A Local Night For Local Comedians?

Event: Sunday 7th March, 7.45pm prompt

After last month’s show featuring acts from opposite ends of the globe, Didsbury’s monthly comedy night draws it’s talent from much nearer to home this month.

Fortunately, due to Manchester’s thriving comedy scene, this doesn’t mean any compromise in quality. Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay, Jason Manford, Alan Carr, John Bishop and Justin Moorhouse are just some of the well known faces that cut their teeth locally and at least two of the above will be returning to Didsbury this summer. It’s not all about the big names though, as sandwiched between the professional comics are one or two of the best up and coming acts are given chance to strut their stuff helping to ensure a rich seam of Mancunian mirth makers for many years to come!

West Didsbury Residents Association 2010 AGM

The West Didsbury Residents Association is holding its Annual General Meeting on Monday 15th February at 8pm at The Albert Club on Old Lansdowne Road.

All are welcome, whether you are a current member or just interested in joining.

The West Didsbury Residents Association is a voluntary, non-partisan organisation which formed in 1983 in response to a fear by local people that some property developments were changing the face of the area and that, if nothing was done, the destinctive architecture, precious trees and wildlife and unique community spirit might be lost forever.

It was mainly due to its efforts that in March 1988 most of West Didsbury became a conservation area, and six of the local buildings were given Grade II listed status.

You can find out more on their website or by viewing their constitution.
